Arab Parliaments: Working Groups
The current phase of the Initiative (2006-2007) includes launching thematic parliamentary working groups on key subjects in the region in an effort to provide parliamentarians and experts with a forum to share knowledge and experiences, and engage in a regional reflection on the role of parliaments and parliamentarians in initiating and accompanying reform through appropriate legislation and effective oversight.
The two working groups were launched in the spring of 2006 and in addition to a series of face-to-face meetings, their work will be supported through research, capacity building tools, training, and networking. Arabparliaments.org will serve as a platform to encourage exchange among the participants, and facilitate access to relevant resources and activities.
