Description:
The internal organization of a parliament determines its ability to perform its
various functions. This section focuses on the parliamentary institution, its structure,
organization and ways to making it more efficient and effective. Selected resources
include research and publications on parliamentary administrations, internal rules
and procedures and codes of conduct. Parliamentary committees receive further attention
being the main venue that allows the parliamentarians to carry out their different
legislative, oversight, budgeting, and representative roles. Resources are also
available on parliamentary caucuses and party groups given their key role in empowering
parliamentarians and allowing them to have greater influence within the parliament.
Finally, several guides and manuals available in this section target developing
parliamentary administration and functioning through the use of ICT.
