Available Databases
- Arab Legislation:
This database includes legal documents pertaining to the themes of rule of law,
transparency and accountability, and participation from across the Arab region.
It includes laws on various topics including associations, political parties, elections,
anti-corruption and media.
- Arab Parliaments: This section provides Fast Fact Sheets
on the legislative chambers of all Arab countries. Information which can be found
in these sheets include basic data such as the date of establishment of the institution,
method of formation, number of members, percentage of female members, standing committees,
etc. It also provides direct access to the internal procedures (parliamentary bylaws).
- Arab Political Parties: This section provides Fast Fact
Sheets on the Political Parties in selected Arab countries. Information which can
be found in these sheets include basic data such as the date of establishment, name
of founder, goals, political agenda, publications and other media outlets, participation
in parliamentary elections and number of seats won, electoral alliances, representation
in government as well as the date of the last internal elections.
- Arab Parliamentary Oversight: This Database is a search
engine that allows the user to search through constitutions and Arab parliamentary
bylaws for texts that regulate the oversight tools. It also allows the user to compare
the texts between two chambers.
