Since 2006, the Initiative has launched thematic parliamentary working groups on key subjects in the region in an effort to provide parliamentarians and experts with a forum to share knowledge and experiences, and engage in a regional reflection on the role of parliaments and parliamentarians in initiating and accompanying reform through appropriate legislation and effective oversight.

In addition to a series of regional meetings, the working groups are supported through research, capacity building tools, training, and networking. Arabparliaments.org serves as a platform to encourage exchange among the participants, and facilitate access to relevant resources and activities.
